The 71st Cooperative Week Valedictory was celebrated at JNMC Auditorium, KLE Academy, Belagavi, under the leadership of Karnataka State Souharda Federal Cooperative Ltd. The theme was “Role of Cooperatives in Building Viksit Bharat,” with discussions on cooperatives achieving SDGs and a better future.
The program included the hoisting of the cooperative flag by District Minister Satish Jarakiholi, lectures by experts like Dr. S.A. Sidhanthi, and a cooperative procession with 1,000 participants.
Notable figures like Cooperation Minister K.N. Rajanna highlighted the cooperative sector’s contribution to farmer support and economic progress. MLA Lakshman Savadi emphasized its role in ethanol production and economic development, while Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar stressed transparency to avoid political interference.
Special editions of cooperative magazines were released, and outstanding cooperatives and individuals were honored. Over 4,500 cooperators attended, marking Belagavi district as a hub for cooperative growth.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Sri. Ravindra Patil.
