In a significant update on the ambitious PACS Computerization Project, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah informed the Rajya Sabha that 82% of the approved Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) across the country have been successfully onboarded onto the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform as of 30th June 2025.

Out of the total 73,492 PACS approved under the scheme, 59,920 have been integrated into the ERP system aimed at boosting transparency, efficiency, and digitization in grassroots-level cooperative credit delivery.

Several states and union territories including Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Ladakh, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu have achieved 100% onboarding. Other major contributors include Tamil Nadu (4,531 of 4,532), Maharashtra (11,954 of 12,000), and Jammu & Kashmir (536 of 537), all of which are near 100% implementation.

However, some states are lagging behind. Notably, Odisha, which recently joined the project, has yet to onboard any of its 2,711 PACS. Jharkhand, Mizoram, and Nagaland have also shown slower progress with onboarding percentages ranging between 28% to 51%.

The Government is implementing a Rs 2,925.39 crore project to computerize PACS using a common ERP software provided by NABARD. This links PACS with State and District Cooperative Banks, enabling them to function as Multi-Service Centres. The software is customizable and includes cloud services, data repository, hardware, and training.
