Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, in a written reply to the Lok Sabha, highlighted major milestones in strengthening PACS for rural empowerment.
He stated that 51,183 PACS across the country have started providing Common Service Center (CSC) services, offering over 300 e-services including banking, insurance, Aadhar enrolment/updation, health services, PAN card, and ticketing for IRCTC, bus, and air travel.
On the farmer front, under the Central Sector Scheme for the Formation and Promotion of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) has disbursed Rs 190 crore to FPOs and Cluster-Based Business Organizations (CBBOs). These efforts are aimed at giving farmers better market linkages, fair prices, and improved access to essential services at the grassroots level.
The initiatives mark a significant step in transforming PACS into rural service hubs and cooperative growth engines.
