PACS can apply online based on advertisements by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), informed Union Minister Amit Shah in the House. Additionally, PACS can convert wholesale consumer pumps into retail outlets under a one-time option.
As of now, 286 PACS have applied for fuel dealerships, with 26 selected, while 116 PACS opted for conversion, and 56 have been commissioned. Two PACS have applied for LPG distributorships in Jharkhand.
The government has permitted Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) to operate retail petrol/diesel outlets and LPG distributorships.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has issued revised guidelines, including PACS under Combined Category 2 (CC-2) for fuel dealerships and Combined Category (CC) for LPG distributorships.
