15 DCCBs allowed govt banking transactions in Maharashtra

Business Line reports Maharashtra govt. will give its banking mandate to banks including 15 district central cooperative banks in the state. The mandate means the limited handling of some funds.

A press statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, among other things, says opinion has been sought from the Maharashtra Department of Co-operation, Textiles and Marketing on District Central Cooperative Banks that are financially viable and are professionally managed.

15 District Central Co-operative Banks have been allowed to conduct government banking transactions (excluding salaries and pensions of government employees).
