In a candid acknowledgement of IFFCO MD Dr. Awathi’s efforts in making the co-op behemoth a globally recognized entity, NAFED Chairman Dr Bijender Singh said that if India has 100 leaders like him, the issue of unemployment will vanish.
In a country of 130 crores we have only one Awasthi and he is making the world take note of him. What if we have 100 like him, he asked to the amusement of the audience.
Singh, who is known for his franness, was speaking at the NCUI headquarters on the occasion of the 70th All India Cooperative Week. Union Minister Parshottam Rupala, NCUI President Dileep Sanghani and IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi were present on the dais.
Bijender said that the image of co-operative is slowly improving thanks to the efforts of some well-meaning individuals like Dr Awasthi. “He is 2-3 months younger to me but I still prefer calling him my elder brother”, said Singh.
He also lauded NCUI Chief Executive Sudhir Mahajan for his several new initiatives and congratulated Sanghani for choosing such an efficient CE.
