10% Funds proposed for Women Service Co-op Societies

At the Mumbai City District Planning Committee (DPDC) meeting chaired by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, in the presence of Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, a key cooperative-focused proposal was put forward.

It was proposed that 10% of works under MLA/MP Local Area Development funds be allocated to women service cooperative societies, with the objective of strengthening grassroots participation and promoting economic empowerment.

Additionally, a demand was raised to increase the DPDC’s special allocation for women empowerment from 3% to 10%, which could significantly enhance financial support for women-led cooperative societies and related community institutions.
