Chocolate Co-op CAMPCO registers highest ever turnover

The only multi state chocolate cooperative in the country CAMPCO did remarkably well by achieving a turnover of Rs 1800 crore in the last financial year, according to a press release sent by the Mangalore headquartered cooperative.

Campco has also registered a record increase in its sale and purchase portfolio as well. Giving details the release noted that while Arecanut purchased stood at the value of Rs 1589.15 crores, Arecanut Sold stood at Rs.1593.40 crores.

Other items such as Cocoa, pepper and rubber purchases also registered a noticeable rise in the value. The overall Chocolate Sales value stood at Rs.203.00 Crores for the financial year 2018-19.

“Campco has etched a name for itself through its zealous service to the farmers.  With more than four and half decades of service, CAMPCO continues to strive for their economic growth”, claimed the release.

The Chocolate co-op claimed that this year’s turnover of Rs 1,878.00 crore is all time high. It also added that the co-operative has beaten all its previous records in the field of sale and purchase. On top of it, the CAMPCO continues to be recognized for its quality products, the release underlined.

Listing its other contributions, Campco says under social responsibility, it has extended financial aid towards the medical treatment of Grower members. So far 31 beneficiaries have availed this facility of which 19 Members have been aided for open heart surgeries and 12 for dialysis treatment.

In order to have add value to Arecanut and to increase its productivity, Campco has collaborated with the ARDF, Mangaluru and SDMIT, Ujire. Recently they organised many seminars on the theme of “Entrepreneurship Development and Industrial Opportunities in Areca” and “Honey Bee Farming” at SDMIT, Ujire. Campco in collaboration with CPCRI is conducting Research in Value Addition for our Products

“We value personal relationship with members and visit their houses on and off”, said Campco President SR Satishchandra. During Cooperative Week Celebrations, management and staff members do visit the houses of farmer members and try to help them whatever way it is possible, added Chandra underlining the true spirit of cooperative.

To encourage inter-crop in Arecanut Gardens, CAMPCO has distributed 30,000 pepper saplings at a subsidized rate. Campco also distributed ISI quality CAMPCO Brand Copper Sulphate to the tune of 142 MTs through its branches and agent societies in order to safeguard crops like Arecanut, Cocoa, Rubber and Pepper.

“The total production of Campco Chocolate factory has touched 14606 MTs out of which 10042 MTs is produced for our own Campco brand and sold Chocolates worth Rs.193.00 Crores including export of 1106 MTs, valued at Rs.16.75 crores”, claimed the release.  Processing charges is valued at Rs.10.00 Crores.

Looking forward CCF has also installed a Choco Chips – a new drop Chocolate Plant of 10 MT per day capacity, imported from Turkey at a cost of around Rs.3.50 Crores.  Campco also meets all the international Food Safety measures at its new amenity building.

Besides, it has set up Chocolate Kiosks at Puttur and Bengaluru for making available to the local consumers the entire varieties of Chocolate Products. Further, moving ahead with the idea of green energy, Campco plans to go in for installation of 400 KW Solar Project at CCF Puttur on Boot Model.
