The newly elected board of the M P based Vikramaditya Nagrik Sahakari Bank Saturday elected Ashok Bhutada as chairman , Mohan Kala and Sunita Polad as Vice chairman and Yashwant Jain as bank representative.
There were two panels: Vikramaditya panel had 6 candidates and the Pragati Panel 5 but with the support from an independent candidate, 6 candidates in all in the Pragati panel won the election. Both the panels winning 6 candidates each, the board has 12 members altogether.
Perhaps it was the first time in the history of the election of cooperative banks when both the panels had equal votes. In the situation, it became necessary to use something of a lottery to choose between the panels with a three years old girl picking the name of Ashok Bhuada as chairman of the bank.
