Vidisha Co-op Bank Chairman arrested

handcuffsChairman of Vidisha Cooperative Bank, Santosh Choure, was arrested by Special Task Force (STF) in connection with contract teachers’ recruitment Grade-II scam-2012.

Choure is considered as close aid of former minister Laxmikant Sharma, who is also in jail in connection with Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam. Choure had allegedly got his three relatives cleared in written exam of Contract Teachers’ Recruitment. The exam was conducted by the MPPEB.

STF officials said he was arrested from his home in Sironj Town on Tuesday night. Choure was produced before the court on Wednesday and sent to jail on judicial remand.

Meanwhile, Choure has quit from the Vidisha BJP general secretary post. He tendered his resignation to the party president, who accepted it. Choure said he was resigning from the post and the party because he did not want to tarnish the name of the party.
