Uttarakhand UCBs in election mode; three of them go to polls

Some of the urban cooperative banks of Uttarakhand are in election mode. After the election schedule of Almora UCB were announced, the election process has been started in Kashipur Urban Cooperative Bank and Kurmanchal Nagar Sahkari Bank as well.

As for the election schedule of Kurmanchal Nagar Sahkari Bank, “The final list of voters will be published on 16th August 2021 and the candidates can file their nomination papers on 17th August 2021. The returning officer has made different voting centres for the election process at different wards. For instance, for Dehradun district the election venue will be the premises of a bank branch at Saharanpur Chowk, Dehradun and others”, according to the election schedule.

Kashipur UCB was in the news in March this year for all the wrong reasons. The ACJM court of Muzaffarnagar had issued a non-bailable warrant against three persons, including the chairman of Kashipur Urban Co-operative Bank, in the case of gang rape of a woman in Kashipur.

Stay tuned with Indian Cooperative for the update on the election of both the UCBs.
