Telangana tops in receiving NCDC’s assistance; AP & Haryana follow suit

In the current financial year, till 30th November 2023, the maximum amount disbursed by NCDC is the state of Telangana which received Rs 11,931 crore. Andhra Pradesh got Rs 10,072 crore and Haryana Rs 9,884 crore. The two stands at 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) disbursed an amount of Rs 35,179.65 crore in the current financial year (2023-24) till 30th November 2023. No fund has been disbursed in Andaman & Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Goa and Pondicherry.

Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah shared the figures in a written reply in Lok Sabha. “In 2022-23, NCDC disbursed an amount of Rs 41,031 crore whereas in 2021-22, it was Rs 34,221.08 crore”, he said.

“NCDC, under the Ministry of Cooperation, provides financial assistance to cooperative societies, which also benefits the poor and the middle-class people. NCDC promotes new cooperatives through its Yuva Sahakar Initiative. Under this scheme, NCDC provides financial support at concessional rate of interest to the new co-operatives enterprises”, Shah informed.

He further added, the loan disbursed by cooperative banks in 2021-22, including Urban Cooperative Banks with Rs 3.15 lakh crore, State Cooperative Banks with 3.21 lakh crore and DCCBs with 3.53 lakh crore. The total loans disbursed by these banks are worth Rs 9.89 lakh crore.

“Total financial assistance including loans and subsidies amounting to Rs 28,069 Cr. have been released by NCDC to the State of Andhra Pradesh”, informed Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah while replying to a query raised by one of the Lok Sabha MPs.

“For, computerization of PACS Project- Rs. 14.93 Cr. has been released to the State of Andhra Pradesh for hardware procurement, digitization and establishment of a support system”, he added.

Shah further added, under the Computerization of Primary Agricultural Credit Society (PACS) project, a proposal to computerize 2,037 PACS in the State of Andhra Pradesh has been received and sanctioned.

“In order to realize the vision of ‘Sahakar – se – Samriddhi’, strengthening the cooperative movement in the country, deepen its reach to the grassroots and development of the cooperative sector and various initiatives have been taken by the Ministry of Cooperation across the country including the State of Andhra Pradesh”, his reply reads.
