SUCO Bank sets up Covid Centre; wins accolades from Deputy CM

In a bid to provide medical facilities in this pandemic situation, Karnataka’s leading Urban Co-op Bank-Suco Souharda Sahakari Bank has established a Covid care centre in collaboration with Janatha Souharda Sahakari and IMA at Sindhanur.

The centre has been named as ‘SUCO-IMA Covid-19 Hospital’. It was inaugurated by Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi last week from Belagavi who praised the efforts of the bank.

Deputy CM Savadi, “I wish all the success to SUCO Bank, Janatha Souhrada Sahakari and IMA team. The move to launch service-oriented COVID-19 hospital at Sindhanur to serve the people in the current situation of medical emergency is laudable”, added the Minister.

SUCO Bank Chairman Mohit Maski said, “We launched the SUCO-IMA Covid-19 Hospital as an example of co-ops’ humanitarian service. We took the help of IMA, Janatha Souhrada Sahakari and Amrutha foundation”, he underlined.

“I also thank local MLA Venkatarao Nadagowda for supporting us and helping us realize our dream”, added the Chairman.

Thirty-bedded SUCO-IMA Covid-19 hospital is well furnished having an assured supply of Oxygen. The facility has an Oxygen generation technology installed at the hospital premises. Bed charges will be less than 50% of what the state government has fixed for private hospitals. It is the first COVID hospital in the Co-operative sector in the Kalyana Karnataka region.

Besides, SUCO Bank has arranged for special vehicles to get Oxygen cylinders from Ginigera village of Koppal district, regularly. Bank authority installed Air purifier (Purifies AIR from Odour, dust and kills Bacteria and Virus), Ionizer (Basically CORONA Virus is a negative ion. This machine emits Positive Ion thereby neutralizing the effect) in a fully air-conditioned hospital, reads a press release from the bank.

The Doctors of IMA, Sindhnaur took responsibility to treat the patients 24 X 7 on a routine basis. Experienced and well-trained staff nurses have been deputed to treat the COVID-19 patients round the clock. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner will be supplied to the patients.

News of several cooperatives making their contributions in this time of national crisis are coming in on a daily basis. The list includes IFFCO, Kribhco, Amul, ULCCS, Campco and several others.
