Pune Peoples’ Co-op Bank organizes a unique workshop

The Pune Peoples’ Cooperative Bank organized a seminar cum workshop of two days last week, in which fun and fundamentals were at the centre-stage. If experts expounded on basics of banking, laughter club ensured the participants relieve their tension.

All the directors of the Bank including Chairman and Vice Chairman, General Manager, all executives, Branch Heads and officers totaling  80, participated in the workshop, held in a  hotel at Mahabaleshwar.

The workshop was formally inaugurated at the hands of the Chairman Adv. Subhash Mohite and was followed by ‘Hasyayoga’ a small laughter session conducted by Mr. Subhash Nade, Vice Chairman of the Bank.

Subhash Nade is working for the cause of stress removal through laughter therapy. This session wonderfully relaxed the participants and made them receptive for the sessions to be followed then.

The first academic session was engaged by CA Shri Janardan Ranadive, Director and former Chairman of the Bank. He informed the participants about the situation that Banking Industry is passing through. He analyzed various events that took in the Banking Industry during the recent past and the implications of those events on the future.

Being a Chartered Account Ranadive wanted the up gradation of the technology and set certain targets for the participants and exhorted them to try to achieve them.

GM Sadanand Dixit reviewed the performance of the Bank and pointed out the places where it has not done well and analyzed the shortcomings. He asked the participants to work as a team to achieve the goal. Later Sanjay Jagtap, Dy. General Manager presented the budget and elaborated the method of the budgeting and the peculiarities of the budget.

The first day was closed with inspiring folk music presented by celebrated Shahir Mr. Hemant Mavle and group. This pre dinner entertainment further refreshed the participants.

The next day started with a motivational session by Shri Limaye, former executive of Saraswat Bank. He surcharged the participants with his impressive presentation. “He spoke for about three hours and not even a single minute was uninspiring’, said one of the participants.

Valedictory session was taken by Adv. Shri Subhash Mohite, Chairman of the Bank. He lauded the staff members for enthusiastically pushing the performance further. He reminded that in the changing situation lowering aspiration is a crime.
