NUBA holds UCBs meet in Chandigarh

Nashik Urban Banks Association (NUBA) – the apex body of Nashik Urban Cooperative Banks organized a four day state level conference from 11 February to 14 February for Chairmen, Vice Chairmen and Directors of North Maharashtra cooperative banks in the Hotel Lalit in Chandigarh, Haryana.

The main objective of the conference was to hold discussion on the current scenario of Urban Cooperative Banks, government policies and co-op acts & laws extant in the country, among others things”

There are about 73 Urban Cooperative Banks in North Maharashtra region out of which over 57 banks participated in this conference. More than 250 delegates were present on the occasion, claimed NUBA President Ajay Bramhecha while speaking to this correspondent on the phone.

Bramhecha said “the conference was inaugurated by Aashish Modgal, Mayor of Chandigarh on 11 February and several prominent cooperative leaders including Sahakar Bharati Patron Satish Marathe spoke about the cooperative banking sector”.

Earlier, Sahakar Bharati Patron Satish Marathe informed through social media “Reached Chandigarh to participate in the Uttar Maharashtra UCBs’ Conference being today & tomorrow ie 11th & 14th Feb 2018. The Conference has been organised by NUBA – Nashik Urban Banks Association.”

Over 200 Chairmen and Directors from all Districts of north Maharashtra have reached the venue, Marathe wrote.

“During the four day conference several sessions including sessions on Cyber Safety, Cyber Crime, Cyber Laws, Government Policies, recovery of NPAs, Investment, future of UCBs and others were organized”, claimed NUBA President Ajay Bramhecha.

He added that ”we have been organizing such conferences since 10 years in a row to educate the representatives of Urban Cooperative Banks and provide them a platform to talk to each other.

Talking to this correspondent one of the participants said “The conference was informative and we gained knowledge on the government policies besides other things. We learnt how to tackle multiple problems that may arise in course of carrying out cooperative banking activities”.

NUBA is the leading association of Urban Cooperative Banks in North Maharashtra and more than 40 urban cooperative banks are its members.
