NCUI leaders justify excluding Nafcub from voter list; quotes history

Several NCUI leaders have reacted strongly to a piece of news appearing in Indian Cooperative on the issue of Nafcub exclusion from the voter list in the category of Highest Contributors of Co-op Education Fund.

It bears recall that Indian Cooperative reported last week “Denied a place in the category of the Highest Contributors of Co-op Education Fund, Nafcub has gone complaining to the Central Registrar. It is fighting its non-inclusion in the Voter list despite making payment on time.

“NCUI received Rs 10 lakh from NAFCUB through RTGS. There was no accompanying note to explain what this is for. How can Chief Executive or RO understand the purpose of this transfer of fund especially when Nafcub has never ever contributed this kind of amount to NCUI in the past”, asked the leaders requesting not to divulge their names.

Speaking further they raised the question “How can anybody be a NCUI voter merely by contributing funds to co-op education. Read the MSCS Act and especially its Section 63. It clearly mentions the fund should come from your profit.”

Nafub always says it in loss but in order to gain an entry into the NCUI Board it manages Rs 10 lac; is not this blatant politics? asked the leaders adding NCUI is preparing its reply to be given both to the Nafcub and the govt.

To tell you the truth it was NCUI’s Chief Executive who wrote a letter to Nafcub after the Fund was transferred to our account, wanting to know what this is for, said the leader.

Justifying inclusion of the National Cooperative Dairy Federation into the voter list, NCUI leaders say they have been contributing every year. The amount has varied from year to year and this year they have contributed Rs 10 lac. Won’t it be unfair if the RO denies it a chance? he asked.

It bears recall that Nafcub Director who doubles as National General Secretary of Sahakar Bharati, Uday Joshi had said that Nafcub made a payment of Rs 10 lac to NCUI on time and yet it was denied a place in the voter list. Joshi was camping in Delhi along with Satish Marathe, the senior Sahakar Bharati leader to sort out the problem.

There are four nominations to the Governing Council from this category and there are already four candidates for the same. They are Dileep Sanaghani from IFFCO, Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav from Kribhco, Bijender Singh from Nafed and Mangal Jit Rai from National Cooperative Dairy Federations of India.

The entry of Nafcub in this list means that there would be voting also in this category, which had never been the case in the past. The matter is currently pending before the Central Registrar with NCUI in no mood to relent.
