On the occasion of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, Gujarat-based Kaira District Central Cooperative Bank organized a grand Cooperative Maha Sammelan at the Shree Swaminarayan Mandir in Vadtaldham last week, which was attended by prominent cooperators including COBI Chairman Ajay Patel and NAFED Chairman Jethabhai Ahir, among others.

The Kheda District Central Cooperative Bank Ltd. (KDCC Bank) is setting a benchmark across Gujarat with its pioneering initiatives in digital transformation and solarization within the cooperative banking sector.

On this occasion, prominent national cooperative leaders applauded the efforts of KDCC Bank Chairman Tejas Patel and the bank’s Board of Directors.

They highlighted the bank’s innovative digital services such as Atmanirbhar Swarojgar Yojana, Ghar-Ghar KCC and Pashupalan KCC schemes, Micro ATM, WhatsApp Banking, Tablet Banking, Loan Management System, and loan facilitation under the PM Suryoday Yojana.

During the Sammelan, Ajay Patel praised KDCC Bank’s strides in digitalization under the leadership of Tejas Patel. He emphasized how tablet banking enables account openings at customers’ doorsteps and how the loan management system provides swift credit services. Inspired by KDCC Bank’s success, other cooperative banks have begun adopting similar digital tools.

Patel also mentioned the launch of loan schemes under the PM Suryoday Yojana by his own bank, noting that KDCC Bank’s digital initiatives serve as a role model in the cooperative sector.

He remarked that these efforts align with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home & Cooperation Minister Amit Shah to promote prosperity through cooperation, contributing significantly towards India’s goal of becoming a $5 trillion economy and realizing a developed India by 2047.

KDCC Bank Chairman Tejash Patel announced that the bank is committed to making banking services easily accessible to all by bringing them directly to customers’ doorsteps under its digitalization drive.

The bank has introduced the tagline “District Bank, Our Bank, Your Bank” to reflect this commitment. The Board is also working towards enabling farmers to receive financial services directly from their cooperative society by securing an internet banking license.

The bank has launched Aadhaar Enabled Payment Services (AEPS), allowing customers to perform instant cash transactions on-site using biometric authentication linked to their Aadhaar cards, eliminating the need for ATM cards. This innovative service promises quicker, safer, and more convenient banking for rural and semi-urban populations.

The Sammelan was attended by Rajendrasinh B Parmar (Vice Chairman, KDCC Bank), numerous directors of KDCC Bank, local MLAs, BJP leaders, and officials from Amul Dairy and various cooperative bodies.

KDCC Bank’s digital revolution marks a significant milestone for cooperative banking in Gujarat, positioning it as a shining example of innovation and customer-centric services in the cooperative sector.

The event also honored former Amul Dairy Chairman Ramsinh Parmar and former KDCC Bank Chairman Dhirubhai Chavda with the Sahakari Shiromani Puraskar 2025.
