Jyotindra Mehta is the Chairman of Rajkot Nagik Sahkari Bank. Mr Mehta is also heading Gujarat chapter of Nafcub. He has mailed his tributes on the sad demise of Eknath Thakur, the legend in the urban cooperative bank movement.
Mehta’s words:
Shri Eknathji Thakur, a doyen of Indian Co-operative Banking segment was a fighter by nature. He fought with long lasting disease, the cancer for long many years.
He used his banking experience in building and leading Saraswat Bank into a topper UCB in India in all segments with a strong network of 229 branches of the bank.
He always strived to see not only Saraswat Bank on top, he also contributed in getting Co-Op. Banking sector a respectable position in Indian Banking.
