Jalgaon Janata Bank: Fulfilling PM’s digital dream

Yes, for encouraging digital transaction Maharashtra based Jalgaon Janata Sahakari Bank has started “Digi Parv Scheme”, where the saving account holders of the bank can win the cash prizes. This scheme is applicable from 15 August 2018 to 15 January 2019.

“In a bid to contribute towards the PM Narendra Modi vision of promoting cashless transaction, Jalgaon Janata Sahakari Bank has started “Digi Parv scheme” for their saving account holders for period from 15 August 2018 to 15 January 2019. During this period the bank will felicitate the winners on weekly basis who do more n more cashless transaction with cash prizes”, informed Rajesh Mahajan, Assistant General Manager of the Bank this correspondent on the phone.

He further said there are about 1.85 lakh saving account holders who can become a part of this contest. Prize of Rs 65,000 will be distributed among the winners and on 20 January 2019 which is the foundation Day of the bank. We will distribute 10 Prizes to the lucky winners in an event to be organized on the occasion, he added.

Jalgaon Janata Sahakari Bank was established in 1979 and was the first bank that acquired the Scheduled status in the North Maharashtra region in 2001.

It has a business mix of about Rs 2200 crore and a network of over 39 branches across the state. The Bank has earned a net profit of Rs 11.04 crore in the last financial year 2017-18.

Recently addressing the AGM, Chairman of the Bank informed, “the bank has earned a net profit to the tune of 11.04 crore as on March, 31 2018 as against Rs 8.22 crore in the previous financial year. The CD ratio of the bank stood at 64.61% as on March 2018 as against 61.60% as of March 2017”.

Jalgaon Janata Sahakari Bank is also active in transforming lives of more than 80 per cent of women folk in the district. Presently, the bank is running about 3500 self-help groups which have more than 60,000 active women members.
