Breaking News: Hackers siphon off Rs 12 cr from AP Mahesh Bank

Andhra Pradesh-based AP Mahesh Cooperative Bank was targeted by cyber fraudsters who hacked into its server and siphoned off over Rs 12 crore on 23 January 2022.

Confirming the news, the Bank MD Umesh Chand Asawa said, ‘yes it is true! And we have blocked the transaction and the complaint has been lodged at Cyber Crime. The investigation is going on”.

He claimed that customers’ money is safe. There is no need to get panicky”.

A P Mahesh Bank has a branch network of 45 covering four states. It is a Multi-State Scheduled Bank and its Head Office is located in Hyderabad.

It bears recall that in 2018 hackers siphoned off over Rs 94 crore through a malware attack on the server of the Cosmos Bank, the second largest urban cooperative bank of India.
