Dehradun District Cooperative Bank had recently organized its 74th Annual General Meeting at Haridwar Road where rural development and Panchayati Raj Minister Pritam Singh was invited as the chief guest.
Addressing over 400 Delegates, Singh said the government fund should be kept in cooperative banks instead of private banks as the state cabinet had passed the proposal and soon it would be implemented. He said the government efforts are to make cooperative banks and cooperative societies stronger.
He warned if cooperative banks were not technically strong, they would fall down.
Bank Chairman Dr K.S.Rana said to this correspondent on the phone that this time the bank had earned a net profit of Rs 11 crore, before tax and we are giving 20 percent dividend to more than 250 member societies.
The Bank has also been active in adopting the latest developments in the field of technology. The bank chairman said “bank provided the facilities such as CBS, ATM, RTGS and NIFT and soon we are going to provide mobile banking facilities to our customers”.
On this Occasion Uttarakhand State Cooperative Federation Chairman and IFFCO Director Pramod Kumar Singh said ” we have to awaken non-functioning cooperative societies and banks by providing financial assistance and meeting their other requirements. We have to work for building a strong Uttarakhand cooperative movement on the lines of the cooperative movement in states like Gujarat and Maharashtra” he said. .
Besides others, Manvendra Singh, Abdul Razaq, Ram Singh Maurya, MD of the bank and other officials were present on the occasion.
Bank chairman told this correspondent the Dehradun District Cooperative Bank felicitated the best performing branches at Nehru Colony and Selaqui.
