Pune headquartered Cosmos Bank has lodged an FIR against M/s Rosary Education Group who have availed Rs. 20.44 crore loan from Bank by submitting false and forged documents, informed the Managing Director, Vikrant Ponkshe to Indian Cooperative.
Mr. Vivek Aranha and Mr. Vinay Aranha, Partners of M/s Rosary Education Group have availed various term loan, cash credit loans of Rs.46.50 crore from Camp Branch of Cosmos Bank. Amongst these loans while availing loan of Rs. 20.44 crore they handed over additional security of land- S.no.394/2/1, of 18,440 Sq.metres at Talegaon Dabhade stating it to be N.A. property.
In addition to this, Bank has taken security of other properties amounting to Rs.60 crore in addition to the disputed property at Talegaon hence the loan is secured against the mortgaged property while the outstanding amount in this loan account is Rs. 39.38 crore only. It is easily possible to legally recover the loan amount and there is no possibility of any loss to the bank from this loan. The situation is that with legal action the entire amount along with the interest can be recovered.
During enquiry Cosmos Bank realized that the 7/12 document and NA document of land – S.no.394/2/1 (old s.no. 642/2) submitted by Mr. Vivek Aranha and Mr. Vinay Aranha of M/s Rotary Education Group are false and forged. Hence on behalf of Cosmos Bank, Bank’s Legal Officer – Mr. S.V. Kale has given a statement to Economic Offences Wing and lodged complaint ( register no.131/2015 ) under Indian Penal Code, section 420, 467, 468, 471, 180b with Camp Police Station against Mr. Vivek Aranha and Mr. Vinay Aranha for submitting false and forged documents to avail loan and misguiding the bank.
On this background Chairman, Mr. Krishnakumar Goyal informed that Bank has neither done anything illegal nor has violated any rules in this case. Chairman and Managing Director re-iterated that there is absolutely nothing to worry and expressed their confidence that customers will maintain their trust on Cosmos Bank in the future too as they have been doing in the past.
