Cosmos Bank: Kale & Kokare elected Chairman and Vice-Chairman unopposed

CA Milind Kale has been elected as the Chairman and Adv. Pralhad Kokare as the Vice-Chairman of The Cosmos Cooperative Bank Ltd., on Friday, January 3rd, 2020 in the presence of Returning Officer Mr. Shailesh Kotmire in the Board Meeting of the newly elected Board Members.

Both of them were elected unanimously. With a legacy of 114 years, Cosmos Bank is well-known, modern and tech-savvy multi-state scheduled bank in co-operative banking sector.

In the recently held elections in Cosmos Bank for the Board of Directors for the years 2020-2025 all the 13 candidates of Utkarsh Panel won with landslide majority. The elections for the post of Chairman and Vice-Chairman were conducted in the very first Board Meeting after this landslide victory. All elected members were present for the first Board Meeting.

CA Milind Kale – Kale has experience of practicing Chartered Accountant for 36 years and he is Director of Cosmos Bank for last 20 years. He is Chairman of the Bank since last 4 years. With his dynamic & effective working style he has brought stability to Bank within very short period.

Adv. Pralhad Kokare – Adv. Kokare is an efficient administrator who has been on the Board of Directors of Cosmos Bank for last 15 years. He has retired as Sub-Registrar from the Co-operatives Department.

It bears recall that, for the elections, there were two panels, the Utkarsh and the Sahakar, which were contesting for the board of directors. Abhyankar was part of the Utkarsh panel along with the present chairman Milind Kale. The Utkarsh Panel defeated Sahakar Panel which was led by Krishna Kumar Goyal, director on the outgoing board of Cosmos Bank and former Chairman.

Meanwhile, Abhyankar-Kale Panel received 5,100 votes, his rival Krishna Kumar Goyal got 3560 votes. The outgoing Chairman Milind Kale got 4960 votes.

It is learnt that only three outgoing directors have been re-elected to the board. There are 10 new faces.

The Cosmos Bank is operative in 7 States of India, viz., Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu through its 140 branches.
