Cosmos Bank constitutes BoM; Amin inducted as professional Director

The second largest Urban Cooperative Bank of India-Cosmos Cooperative Bank has recently constituted the Board of Management in addition to the Board of Directors, in which the well known cooperator and leading Advocate G H Amin has been appointed as one of its members.

The Board of Management comprises six members in which three are from the existing board of directors and three professionals appointed from outside. Those from the existing board include Dr Mukund Abhyankar, CA Milind Kal and Adv. Pralhad Kokare.

The first meeting of the board was presided over by Dr Mukund Abhyankar. The board will meet once every month.

According to the official statement released by the bank, “The Cosmos Co-operative Bank Ltd has appointed three expert members out of its current Board i.e. one Chairman and other two members having experience in banking and accountancy”.

“Over and above the Board of Directors, three experts have been appointed as members on the BOM of the Cosmos Cooperative Bank Ltd. Out of these three experts, Shri Ghanshyambhai Amin has been appointed as a Member on the BOM of the bank considering his long and vast experience in legal field and in cooperative and banking sectors”.

It further reads, “Moreover one Chartered Accountant and one doctor have been selected and appointed as other two expert members on the BOM of the Cosmos Cooperative Bank Ltd. Thus these three experts have been appointed to the BOM and RBI has put a seal of its approval on their appointments”.

As soon as Amin’s name was announced, his well-wishers posted the news on social media leading to a barrage of congratulatory messages. The news spread like wildfire.

The bank with branches in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi etc is considered to be the second largest bank amongst 1500 urban banks.
