The district unit of the Congress party in Hassan has alleged that the Hassan district central cooperative bank is not free from the taint of irregular transactions.
The local Congress president B.H.Narayana Gowda has called on the state govt to take over the bank and hold an immediate enquiry into its irregularities.
Mr Narayana Gowda has also charged the bank with disbursing loans with political considerations and a skewed sense of priorities. The bank has made dishonest money through an unnecessary construction work, the Congress leader alleged.
Mr Gowda said the bank has been giving substantial loans for various construction works without proper authorization and in utter violation of banking norms.
