Bank on Wheels: Udham Singh Nagar DCCB reaches out to people

For reaching out to its existing and new customers, Uttarakhand’s Udham Singh Nagar District Cooperative Bank has launched the ‘Bank on Wheels’ facility with the assistance from NABARD on Saturday at its headquarters.

The bank Chairman Narendra Singh Manas, Uttarakhand State Cooperative Bank Chairman Dan Singh Rawat, NABARD District officer Rajeev Priyadarshi jointly waved the van off.

“This Mobile ATM Van will move in 9 blocks of Udham Singh Nagar District and the facility will enable the public, especially farmers to get the door-step banking facility at identified locations”, said its Chairman Narendra Singh Manas to this correspondent on the phone.

Manas further added that, with the help of this van one can avail the benefits like open account, deposit money, grab loan opportunity and many other benefits. Perhaps it is for the first time that the bank has launched this Mobile ATM van to reach customers living in remote areas of the district, he underlined.

“Presently, there are 2.8 lakh account holders associated with the bank but we are planning to achieve a target of 3 lakh customers in this financial year and we hope that this Mobile ATM van will help us achieve the target”, Manas informed.

The bank is also planning to launch a micro-finance scheme for small business men like vegetable vendors. We will soon provide E-Rickshaw loans to our customers.

Readers would recall that in the recently concluded election of Udham Singh Nagar DCCB, Narendra Singh Manas had been elected unopposed as the chairman of the bank.

Udham Singh Nagar DCCB provides various loans on attractive and flexible interest rates to the farmers. We are providing different types of loans to farmers to do agriculture work.

The bank was established on 23 November 2004.
