The National Federation of Urban Cooperative Banks and Credit Societies (NAFCUB) has extended a formal invitation to Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah to serve as the Chief Guest at the upcoming International Conference of the Urban Cooperative Credit Sector—“COOPKUMBH 2025.”

This significant event is scheduled for November 8–9, 2025, at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, coinciding with the United Nations-declared International Year of Cooperatives.

The NAFCUB delegation, led by President Laxmi Dass, met Minister Shah at his residence in New Delhi to discuss the conference’s objectives and invited him to preside over the inaugural session. Other members of the delegation included NUCFDC President Jyotindra Mehta, O.P. Sharma, Kantibhai Patel, Mohan Prashar, and other Directors of NAFCUB.

COOPKUMBH 2025 aims to serve as a transformative platform for stakeholders in the urban cooperative credit sector. The conference will feature thematic sessions on various topics, including corporate governance, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and the role of women and youth in cooperative banking.

The event is expected to witness participation from over 1,500 attendees, including 40+ speakers and 38 exhibition stalls, fostering discussions and collaborations among policymakers, financial institutions, and cooperative leaders.

The conference’s schedule includes presentations by senior officers from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), NABARD, and SEBI, providing insights into policy shifts, risk management strategies, and compliance frameworks crucial for the sustainable growth of urban cooperative banks.

Additionally, the event will showcase innovations from top FinTech companies, banking software providers, and digital payment solution providers, highlighting the sector’s role in promoting financial inclusion and rural empowerment.

By bringing together national and international cooperative institutions, COOPKUMBH 2025 aims to highlight the strength and potential of the urban cooperative credit sector in driving socio-economic development. The conference aligns with the theme of the International Year of Cooperatives-“Cooperatives Build a Better World”-emphasizing the sector’s role in fostering inclusive and sustainable growth.

NAFCUB’s initiative underscores the importance of collaboration and innovation in the cooperative banking sector, aiming to redefine the future of cooperative credit societies in India and beyond. The event is poised to be a landmark occasion, setting the stage for strategic partnerships and policy advancements that will shape the cooperative movement for years to come.
