The 36th Annual General Meeting of the Gujarat Urban C-Operative Banks Federation (GUCBF) was held in Rajkot on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion Federation Chairman Jayotindra Mehta said that Cooperative banks have played a major
role in providing banking services to the people.
We have reached where nationalized banks had failed to reach. He said the cooperative banks have managed to offer banking services even in the remote areas.
Lauding Y H Malegam’s study on the feasibility of granting licences to new urban co-operative banks, Mehta welcomed the Reserve Bank of India’s decision on this.
