Adarsh credit: Modis try to silence critics by serving legal notices

The helpless depositors of Adarsh Credit, who have yet to get their money back are now being bullied by the infamous Modis through slapping of legal notices. “I do not care and they cannot browbeat us like this”, said a few victims to Indian Cooperative.

Varsha Khandelwal, one of the victims says that it is true that she launched a campaign against the Modis on social media as all avenues of securing her deposits failed to get her justice. “But I was careful and have not even once said an abusive word; what option has people got other than social media when the avenues of justice fail to deliver”, she asked with a palpable sadness in her voice.

Varsha also mailed a trail of twitter posts in which Adarsh agents have trolled her. In fact they should be dragged to the court for trolling me on my innocent posts”, she underlined. Gujarat headquartered Adarsh Credit Cooperative Society is indeed in thick of news for threatening its gullible depositors with legal notices as they demand their money back.

The legal notice which Varsha Khandelwal received is titled “Legal notice against the defamatory and libelous twitter post against Adarsh Credit Cooperative Society Ltd”.

“I had invested hard earned money and given a cheque of Rs 5.5 Lakh in September 2017 in triple scheme. In the wake of erroneous reports related to Adarsh Cooperative I knocked at the door of Agra branch many times but they kept on misleading me and when I approached to break FDs to take the money back the officials stated for deductions of 60 percent amount. How can I allow them to deduct my money? she asked.

“Later, I started doing campaigning against the Adarsh Cooperative but trust me I have not used abusive language and have been fighting for my rights for several months but all has gone in vain till date. Frankly speaking, my father is suffering from heart problem and doctors advise for operation but due to financial crunch we are not in a situation to admit him in hospital and now the society is serving notice to me instead of giving back my money”, Khandelwal lamented.

She further said, I will continue my fight and if necessary I am ready to go to Jail. Adarsh Cooperative blocked me from everywhere including sending mails as well social sites”, she claimed.

Another investor, Gaurav Paul talking to this correspondent said, “My mother Supriya Paul has invested money in Adarsh Credit Cooperative Society and our Rs 8 Lakh is pending with the society. We have invested in its Mahaveer Nagar, Kota branch but despite our visiting the branch several times the officials keep us giving different dates. Now, we are helpless, he said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi, Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies has ordered liquidation and winding up the Gujarat headquartered Adarsh Credit Cooperative Society. Central Registrar has appointed H.S.Patel, IAS (Retd.), as the liquidator in the society.

The liquidator shall finalize the liquidation proceedings within a period of one year.
