The Mandsaur incident has overnight transformed Singh from a competent Minister ever eager to dish out impressive figures- into one who is a source of all troubles that are wrong with the farm sector. In Bhubaneshwar if he was greeted by eggs and black flags, back home in Motihari his Yoga session has become the butt of public ridicule.
How can he nonchalantly do yoga when the country is afire, ask his detractors. Union Minister Singh was seen doing yoga with Baba Ramdev at a public function in Bihar’s Motihari.
The yoga event was part of a three-day camp organised by Ramdev last week in Motihari at the invitation of Radha Mohan who has a weakness for organizing spectacular events in his home town.
In Bhubaneshwar Singh’s vehicle was shown black flags when he was on his way to Janti to attend the Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas event.
As if this is not enough, Singh was tactless to reporters’ query on farmers’ killing. When reporters asked the minister about the five farmers killed in police firing, the Minister replied, “Yoga kijiye (practice yoga)”, reports NDTV.
His loyalists, however, fear that all this may finally cost him his Cabinet post in the Cabinet reshuffle slated after the Presidential elections.
