Singh’s FB presence draws massive response

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Radha Mohan Singh was flooded with questions when he decided to come live on Face Book on Thursday. In no time more than 2 lac people viewed him answering questions from the people.

In the very first half an hour of him going live, he was thrown questions numbering 50 thousand. As Singh struggled to answer all of them it was evident he cannot do so as he no sooner would answer questions than he would get a dozen more of them to answer.

As it happened with thousands of others, Indian Cooperative’s question as to how does he see “the role of cooperative in the context of govt efforts to double farmers’ income” went unanswered. Press Information Bureau which organized the event proved to be rather unprofessional as it failed to categorize questions into subheads so that each could have got their queries answered.

During the event, the Minister discussed various schemes related to the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ministry such as Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Soil Health Card, and e-NAM and also answered queries related to the agriculture sector. The audience asked a volley of questions and the Minister tried to respond to as many as possible even after the LIVE interaction.

Post interaction, the Minister praised the participation of the people saying it proves that people are serious about agriculture and the schemes related to it.
