PM to have dialogue with farmers today

A stickler for meeting deadlines, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to have a direct dialogue with farmers across the country, in which various initiatives related to doubling the income of farmers by 2022 will also be discussed.

This was stated by Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Radha Mohan Singh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the farmers of the country on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at 9:30 am.

It will be broadcast directly by Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Common Service Centers (CSC), Doordarshan, DD Kisan and Aakashvaani from all over the country.

People will also be able to interact with Hon’ble Prime Minister through “Narendra Modi App”.

On several other occasions, Modi has interacted with the farmers to goad them into doubling their income. Recently a program “Sankalp Se Sidhi “was organized on the issue of doubling income across the country to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Quit India Movement.

The programs comprise of Kisan Film having message of PM to double farmers’ income by year 2022, followed by a pledge for Sankalp Se Sidhi, lecture by agriculture experts and address of the chief guest.

Earlier, in order to motivate the agricultural ministry and other stake holders Modi sat with them to review initiatives aimed at doubling farmers’ income by 2022 at the National Conference on the theme “Agriculture-2022: Doubling Farmers’ Incomes” organised at NASC Complex, Pusa, Delhi this year in February.

Modi endorses seven path-breaking measures aimed at doubling farmers’ income. They are Policy and Governance Reforms, Agriculture Trade Policy and Export Promotion; Market Structure and Marketing Efficiency, Value Chain and Supply Chain Management, Science and Technology and Start-ups in Agriculture, Sustainable and Equitable Development and Efficient Delivery of Services, Capital Investment and Institutional Credit for farmers, Promotion of Livestock, Dairy, Poultry and Fisheries as Engines of Growth.
