Cooperators welcome renaming of Ministry

As the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was unfurling tricolours from the rampart of Red Fort in Delhi, the leading cooperators of the country were not behind in celebrating the 69th Independence Day- an event of collective pride and joy.

On this occasion IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi asked his followers to pledge for a prosperous and healthier India. He tweeted “Wishing everyone a very Happy 69th #Independence Day. Let’s pledge for more prosperous & healthier #India. #Jai Jawan Jai Kisan & #Happy Farmer.”

Prime Minister also perhaps for the first time focused on farmers in a special way and announced the renaming of Agricultural Ministry as Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare. There was a wave of cheers among those cooperative leaders who deal with agri-cooperatives with farmers at the centre of their activities.

A buoyed up Awasthi lost no time and tweeted his happiness” #IFFCO welcomes d renaming of Agriculture Min as Min of Agriculture & Farmer Welfare by #PM @narendramodi Ji for care of farmers. @PMOIndia.”

Talking to Indian Cooperative NCUI President Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav said” we welcome the renaming and govt efforts to put farmers at the centre of their activities. Only the other day I had demanded that PM should speak a word for cooperative from the rampart of Lal Quila. At least he mentioned farmers in a special way.”

Amul MD R S Sodhi said on phone that the renaming of Ministry shows how serious this govt is in solving farmers’ Issues.

Another senior Gujarati cooperator Jyotindra Mehta who is chairman of Rajkot Nagrik Sahkari Bank also posted on his FB wall the unfurling of  triclours at the hands of a senior RSS leader Sunil Mehta.

Pramod Kumar Singh Chief of ICM Dehradun as well as of Uttrakhand State Co-op Federation unfurled the triclours in the presence of A K Kala, Additional Registrar Smt Ira Upreti,  Dy Ragistrar Ms Ramendri Mandarwal and Astt Ragistrar Sh Bhanwar Singh and ICM staffs in Dehradun.
