The Gujarat State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Bank Ltd. (Kheti Bank) celebrated its 75-year legacy with a series of landmark announcements during its 74th Annual General Meeting (AGM), held in the gracious presence of the Governor of Gujarat.
The AGM, which doubled as the Platinum Jubilee celebration of the apex cooperative bank, witnessed the launch of several commemorative initiatives, including the unveiling of “Annadata Ni Amrut Yatra”, a publication chronicling the bank’s 75-year journey, and a digital documentary showcasing its contribution to agricultural and rural development in Gujarat.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Dolar Kotecha said the bank has remained committed to empowering farmers since its inception and continues to work towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of enhancing farmers’ income and the cooperative mantra of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi.”
Announcing the bank’s financial performance for FY 2025-26, Kotecha said Kheti Bank achieved the rare distinction of 0% Net NPA, while posting a Gross Profit of Rs 111 crore and a Net Profit of Rs 81 crore, reinforcing its position as one of the country’s strongest cooperative financial institutions.
Highlighting farmer-centric initiatives, he said the Gujarat Government’s recently approved Dam-Dupat Settlement Scheme is expected to benefit nearly 14,000 farmer families, providing an estimated Rs 8 crore in interest relief.
He further informed that, through various One-Time Settlement (OTS) schemes implemented up to FY 2025-26, Kheti Bank has waived Rs 123 crore in interest, enabling thousands of farmers to make a fresh financial beginning.
Kotecha lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for establishing the Ministry of Cooperation in 2021 and credited Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah with spearheading transformative reforms such as ARDB computerization, Model Bye-Laws, Bharat Taxi, and other initiatives that have ushered in greater modernization and transparency in the cooperative sector.
He also thanked Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel for supporting cooperative reforms and approving the Dam-Dupat Settlement Scheme.
As part of its Platinum Jubilee celebrations, the bank organized comprehensive health check-up and eye screening camps for delegates, members, and employees.
It also announced a green mobility initiative under which its conventional petrol and diesel vehicles will gradually be replaced with Electric Vehicles (EVs) in line with the Prime Minister’s vision for sustainable development.
