In a major boost to cooperative education in Odisha, Tribhuvan Sahakari University (TSU), formerly known as the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) and India’s first National Cooperative University, will establish a Satellite Centre in Bhubaneswar from the 2026–27 academic session.
The announcement was made through a post on the official X handle of the Odisha Cooperation Department.
The initiative, being undertaken in collaboration with the state government’s Cooperation Department, aims to expand access to quality higher education in the cooperative sector.
The proposed centre will provide students across Odisha with opportunities to pursue specialised academic programmes, skill development and professional training while strengthening research and capacity building in cooperative management. It is also expected to create new career opportunities for young professionals in the cooperative sector.
The Satellite Centre marks a significant milestone in advancing cooperative education in Odisha and strengthening the state’s cooperative ecosystem.
