The Karnataka State Souharda Federal Cooperative Ltd. (KSSFCL), Bengaluru, celebrated the 104th International Day of Cooperatives on July 4, 2026, reaffirming the cooperative movement’s commitment to peace, solidarity and inclusive development. The programme began with the hoisting of the cooperative flag by KSSFCL Deputy General Manager Narayana Hegde.
Addressing the gathering, Hegde highlighted this year’s global theme, “Cooperatives for a Peaceful World,” saying it aptly reflects the role of cooperatives in fostering dialogue, strengthening social cohesion and promoting peaceful, resilient societies.
Referring to ongoing conflicts in different parts of the world, he said the spirit of cooperation is built on mutual trust, support and solidarity, leaving no room for conflict. He stressed that cooperative values should extend beyond institutions to communities and nations to help prevent disputes and build lasting peace.
Hegde also described the Souharda Cooperative Movement as a “new generation cooperative,” driven by innovation, technology and youth participation. Senior officials Rajshekar H., Shridhar and KSSFCL staff attended the celebration.
