The Sikkim State Cooperative Union (SICUN), in collaboration with the Cooperation Department, Gangtok District, organised a one-day training programme on the roles and responsibilities of cooperative field functionaries at Assam Lingzey on July 2.
Addressing the participants, SICUN Chairman Dr. Mangal Jit Rai described field officers as the backbone of the cooperative movement and urged them to uphold transparency, accountability and cooperative values to realise the vision of “Sahakar Se Samriddhi.”
He also lauded the launch of the Google Pin Initiative for Cooperative Societies, calling it a major step towards digital transformation.
The programme featured technical sessions on cooperative registration, audit preparedness, NCDC schemes and office administration. The initiative provides PACS, milk cooperatives and FPOs in Gangtok district with a verified digital presence, enhancing accessibility, visibility and public trust.
