In a significant push to strengthen the cooperative movement in Manipur, a joint delegation of officials from the Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS), Government of Manipur, and the NCDC Satellite Office, Manipur, called on Chief Minister N. Biren Singh.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted the National Cooperative Development Corporation’s (NCDC) contributions to the state through Integrated Cooperative Development Projects (ICDP) and fisheries initiatives, which have helped create livelihood opportunities and support rural development.
Discussions also focused on leveraging cooperatives as engines of inclusive economic growth and community empowerment.
A key highlight of the meeting was the proposed Chief Minister’s Cooperative Development and Entrepreneurship Mission (CM-CDEM).
The Chief Minister expressed keen interest in the initiative, which aims to strengthen selected primary cooperative societies through NCDC financial assistance. The mission is expected to promote entrepreneurship, generate employment, and accelerate sustainable development across the state.
