Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 23rd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on June 20, 2026, from Taraknath in Hooghly district of West Bengal. The occasion will be celebrated nationwide as “PM-KISAN Utsav Day,” with extensive participation of farmers through Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS).
According to the Ministry of Cooperation, the event aims to honor the country’s farmers and highlight the role of PM-KISAN in strengthening rural livelihoods. Since the scheme’s launch in February 2019, more than Rs 4.28 lakh crore has been transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts through 22 installments, making it one of the world’s largest direct benefit transfer programmes.
The Ministry said the initiative has contributed significantly to enhancing farmers’ incomes while supporting cooperative-based rural development. PACS across the country will facilitate farmer participation in the celebrations and live viewing of the programme.
The release of the latest installment is expected to benefit millions of eligible farmers, reinforcing the government’s commitment to agricultural welfare and rural prosperity.
