A delegation of the Sikkim State Cooperative Union (SICUN), led by Chairman Dr. Mangal Jit Rai, met the Governor of Sikkim at Lok Bhavan in Gangtok and formally invited him to attend the National Cooperative Conference 2026 as the Chief Guest.
The delegation, which included Vice Chairman P. P. Sharma and Executive Officer Shailesh Rai, briefed the Governor about the conference being organized by SICUN with financial support from the Central Education Fund (CEF), Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, in collaboration with the Cooperation Department, Government of Sikkim.
Scheduled to be held on June 25–26 at the SICUN Auditorium in Assam Lingzey, Pakyong, the conference will focus on the theme, “Sahkar Se Samriddhi: Cooperatives Driving Inclusive Growth, Innovation & Sustainable Development for Viksit Bharat.”
Around 800–900 delegates from across the country are expected to participate. The Governor accepted the invitation and conveyed his best wishes for the successful conduct of the event, appreciating its significance for the cooperative sector.
