The Kerala government has appointed IAS officer Prem Krishnan S as the new Registrar of Cooperative Societies, replacing senior bureaucrat Dr. Sajith Babu.
A 2017-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Kerala cadre, Prem Krishnan S brings extensive administrative experience to the key post overseeing the state’s cooperative sector.
He served as the District Collector of Pathanamthitta. Born on May 15, 1986, Prem Krishnan holds a B.Tech in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Kerala and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (Marketing) from Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning.
During his administrative career, he has held several important positions, including District Development Commissioner, Malappuram, and Sub-Collector of Devikulam. He has also served as Assistant Secretary, Assistant Collector, and Executive Magistrate in various capacities.
His appointment comes at a crucial time for Kerala’s vibrant cooperative sector, which plays a significant role in the state’s economy and rural development.
