West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday expressed optimism over the expansion of Amul in the state after holding discussions with senior officials of the dairy cooperative.

Adhikari met Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) Managing Director Jayen Mehta and Amit Vyas of the Kaira District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union to discuss investment opportunities and dairy sector development in West Bengal.

In a post on X, the Chief Minister said the talks focused on Amul’s expansion plans, investment potential, employment generation and strengthening the dairy economy.

He described the discussions as “extremely fruitful” and said mutual cooperation between West Bengal and Amul could open “new horizons” for the state’s dairy sector and overall economic growth.
