June 8, 2026 will mark the 99th birth anniversary of Varanasi Subraya Bhat and the beginning of his centenary birth year celebrations, commemorating the legacy of one of India’s pioneering cooperative leaders.
In a statement, CAMPCO President S. R. Sathishchandra said the occasion provides an opportunity to honour Bhat’s vision and contribution towards transforming the lives of lakhs of arecanut and cocoa growers across the country.
To mark the milestone, an article authored by former CAMPCO Vice President Shankaranarayana Bhat Khandige has been prepared, highlighting the life, leadership and enduring legacy of the cooperative stalwart.
CAMPCO has appealed to publications to carry the tribute article on June 8 as part of the centenary year observance.
