The Ministry of Cooperation has hailed the upcoming Paradip plant of Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited and Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited as a major milestone towards making India fully self-reliant in sulfuric acid production.

Sharing the development on social media, the ministry said the initiative reflects the vision of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah for building an Aatmanirbhar Bharat through cooperative-led industrial growth.

According to the ministry, the new Paradip facility will significantly strengthen domestic production capacity and reduce dependence on imports of sulfuric acid, a key industrial chemical widely used in fertilizers and other sectors.

The project is being seen as another major step in empowering the cooperative sector and enhancing India’s industrial self-sufficiency. The ministry said the initiative also underlines the growing role of cooperatives in supporting national economic development and strategic manufacturing goals under the “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” vision.
