In a strong action against irregularities in cooperative lending, Rajasthan Cooperation Secretary Samit Sharma on Monday ordered the suspension of a PACS manager following complaints of withholding crop loan payments from farmers.
Sharma took the action during a surprise review of complaints received through the Rajasthan Sampark Helpline (181) at the state secretariat.
During a direct interaction with complainants, a farmer from Alwar alleged that the manager of Maharajawas Gram Seva Sahakari Samiti failed to release the full sanctioned crop loan amount.
Taking serious note, Sharma immediately connected senior officials of the cooperative bank and Apex Bank through video conference and sought an explanation. After finding the complaint valid, he ordered the suspension of PACS manager Abhay Yadav and directed an inquiry under Section 55 of the Rajasthan Cooperative Act, seeking a report within seven days.
Sharma also pulled up officials over delay in resolving another crop loan complaint from Ajmer and ordered immediate disposal of the case. He directed officers to ensure quick, transparent and practical grievance redressal to strengthen public trust in the cooperative system.
