In a major relief for noted Gujarat cooperator Dolarbhai Kotecha, the Gujarat High Court has dismissed a petition challenging his election as Chairman of the Gujarat State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Bank, popularly known as Kheti Bank.
The court observed that Kotecha’s election was conducted through a proper and lawful process and that no wrongdoing or disqualification could be established against him. The judgment also noted that he has been serving as chairman since 2021 and that the petition was filed after a considerable delay.
The High Court further pointed out that the petitioner failed to use the available legal remedies at the appropriate time and raised objections much later. According to the court, the entire election process was carried out in accordance with the rules.
The verdict is being seen as a significant victory for Kotecha, who continues to enjoy strong support in Gujarat’s cooperative sector.
Reacting emotionally after the judgment, Dolarbhai Kotecha said, “This victory is not just mine, but of truth, trust and the thousands of farmers and cooperators who stood by me with faith and patience during difficult times.”
