In a major digital governance push, Maharashtra has introduced a fully online system for registering cooperative societies through the Aaple Sarkar portal. The initiative aims to reduce delays, enhance transparency, and ensure time-bound approvals, say media reports.
Marking a milestone, the Gorai-based women’s group Sphurti Mahila Audyogik Utpadak Sahakar Sanstha became the first to complete registration digitally. The new system replaces the earlier cumbersome process that required multiple office visits and extensive paperwork.
The move is expected to streamline cooperative formation and strengthen citizen-centric governance across the state.
