A special meeting of the Vaijapur tehsil Cooperative Purchase-Sale Society witnessed a major ruckus after members of the Shinde Sena and BJP clashed over the selection of a representative to the district central cooperative bank, reports Lokmat Times.
The dispute reportedly erupted over quorum issues and alleged selective invitations, with heated arguments between leaders from both sides disrupting proceedings.
The meeting, chaired by administrator Omkar Devapure, was briefly adjourned amid the chaos but later resumed. BJP-backed former president Saheberao Autade was eventually elected unanimously after the session reconvened. The incident comes amid ongoing elections to the district cooperative bank for the 2026–2031 term.
