NITI Aayog organised a workshop and released a report outlining a roadmap for horticulture development in Jammu & Kashmir, focusing on productivity, value addition and market competitiveness.
The report was unveiled in the presence of Vice Chairman Suman Bery, Member (Agriculture) Ramesh Chand and CEO Nidhi Chhibber. The workshop brought together stakeholders including FPOs, cooperatives, SHGs, startups and research institutions.
Discussions covered production systems, infrastructure, sustainability and exports. A key highlight is “Operation Golden Greens”, a mission to drive integrated horticulture growth across fruits, vegetables and floriculture.
The roadmap proposes short-, medium- and long-term interventions to build a resilient, technology-driven ecosystem, enhance farmer incomes and generate employment in the Union Territory.
