A two-day National Review Workshop aimed at strengthening India’s cooperative sector will be held in Varanasi on April 9 and 10. The event is being jointly organized by the Ministry of Cooperation and the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

The workshop will serve as a key platform to review ongoing schemes and chart future strategies for enhancing the role of cooperatives in economic development. On the first day, deliberations will focus on the computerization of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), improving their operational efficiency, and strengthening quality monitoring systems. Discussions will also cover the implementation of the world’s largest grain storage scheme, challenges faced by cooperative institutions, and progress in expanding membership.

On the second day, the Uttar Pradesh model of “Prosperity through Cooperation” will be showcased, highlighting best practices and success stories. The sessions will also explore ways to boost synergy between cooperatives and the proposed White Revolution 2.0, aimed at enhancing dairy sector growth.

The conclave is expected to provide fresh momentum to the cooperative movement by fostering innovation, collaboration, and policy refinement in line with the vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi.”
